2018 Cepparello, Isole e Olena

Isole e Olena is situated in the western part of Chianti Classico, just north of the village of Castellina. Because the western flank of Chianti is open to breezes from the sea, this is a much cooler part of the zone, resulting in wines that are lighter but more scented and elegant than many others. `Cepparello’ is Paolo De Marchi`s flagship wine, made solely from Sangiovese. The name is taken from an old stream, Borro Cepparello, originating in the highest point of the vineyards on the Isole e Olena`s 50 hectare estate.
