2019 Napanook, Dominus Estate, Yountville, Napa Valley

Dominus Estate`s Second Wine, Napanook is made from grapes grown at the historic, dry farmed, Napanook Vineyard. Blended from vineyard blocks selected for their lively fruit and supple tannins, the wine is crafted to consume young, but will also age superbly for a decade. The blend in 2019 is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the wine having aged for 16 months in French oak barrels (20% new).

Mid ruby-purple, aromas are attractive, perfumed and pure, with notes of cassis, red berries, and hints of fresh mint. Palate is full, fleshy and rounded, having beautiful balance of power with freshness. Fine concentration and juiciness lead to a long flavoured, ripe finish (for drinking 2024–2032+).
