2023 Lacoste-Borie, Pauillac

This Second wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste frequently appears on our list, offering great value for a classically styled, impeccably made Pauillac. In 2023 the blend is 56% Cabernet Sauvignon with 33% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc, ageing in 50% new barrels. Good purple colour, aromas are clean, with notes of black fruits and pencil lead. This is a fresh, supple Lacoste-Borie, having lovely clarity of fruit. The finish is harmonious, fresh and long-flavoured (to drink from 2028–2038+).
