2022 Gigondas Les Pigières, Domaine Font Sarade

The 1.25 hectare Les Pigières lies on the western edge of Gigondas, close to its border with Vacqueyras. With views up to the Dentelles de Montmirail, there is considerable limestone and chalk in these soils, giving a precisely structured, tensely fragrant style. Mid ruby-purple colour, aromas are very pretty, recalling ripe red and black fruits. Palate is full, suave and richly concentrated. Tannins are silky, carrying to a long, complete finish (for drinking 2024-2030+).
