2016 Château Lacoste-Borie, Pauillac

The second wine of the celebrated Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Lacoste-Borie encapsulates all the classic qualities of Pauillac. The vines lie at the heart of the commune, the assemblage in 2016 being 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 29% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Colour is deep ruby, the attractive, floral aromas being both ripe and very fresh. There is intense, vibrant fruit and elegant structure, the tannins being silky. This is a splendid wine, that will charm drinkers now and over the next few years (for drinking 2024-2027+).
