This 2018 Marques de Murrieta is a blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha, which aged for 21 months in American oak barrels. Colour is mid ruby-garnet, aromas being expressive, with notes of strawberry and smoky vanilla spice. Palate is full bodied and rounded, having complex, buttery red and black berry flavours, with underlying slatey freshess. The finish is long flavoured, with supple tannins.
