2020 Napanook, Dominus Estate, Yountville, Napa Valley

The estate`s Second Wine, Napanook is made from grapes grown at the historic Napanook Vineyard. Blended from vineyard blocks selected for their lively fruit and supple tannins, the wine is crafted to consume young, but will also age superbly for a decade. The blend in 2020 is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the wine having aged for 16 months in French oak barrels (20% new).

Deep ruby in the glass, aromas are vibrant, pure and fragrant, recalling ripe cassis with tones of fresh mint. Palate is full, supple and deeply concentrated, tannins being incredibly fine. The finish has charm, freshness and excellent length (for drinking 2024–2032+).
