The Scorpo Family Estate is located in Merricks North, in the heart of Australia’s Mornington Peninsula. Vines were first planted here in 1997, with Paul and Caroline Scorpo having chosen this location for its unique, maritime climate, which is ideal for growing high quality cool climate varietals. The estate now comprises 17 hectares and works under the principle that quality wines are made from sustainably farmed, low-yielding, hand-picked vines – the vineyard determines the ultimate quality of the wine. Here, old world practices combine with new world flavours to give captivatingly delicious wines, which we are thrilled to ship exclusively to the UK.
This 2021 Aubaine Chardonnay was fermented and then aged for 12 months in old French barriques. Pale gold in the glass, aromas are attractive and pure – lemon and fresh peach with a hint of smoke. Palate is medium bodied and crisp. Excellent fruit ripeness combines with raciness, tension and salinity, finishing fresh and long.

We were delighted to introduce the wines of Scorpo Estate to the UK market in late 2020. Based in Australia`s cool, maritime climate of Mornington Peninsula, Scorpo produce elegant, high quality wines that reflect their home region with a discreet nod to Burgundy. Paul and Caroline Scorpo planted their first vines in 1997. The 17 hectare estate works under the principle that quality wines are made from sustainably farmed, low-yielding, hand-picked vines.
