Latricières-Chambertin lies directly south of Le Chambertin, producing oneof the longest-living wines in all Burgundy. It is a racy wine, in the same styleas the Lavaut Saint Jacques, but with another dimension of structure and fruit depth. 30% whole bunches were retained, and barrel-ageing has given a wine of mid-deep, ruby-purple colour and very fresh aromas. Palate is well built, with dense fruitiness, good freshness, gentle tannins and invigorating length (for drinking 2027-2040+).

Domaine Drouhin-Laroze
This long-established Domaine has magnificent vineyard-holdings in the northern Côte de Nuits, with many First Growths, and also no less than six of the greatest Grands Crus. The barrels age in perfect conditions of humidity and temperature in underground, two-storied cellars which date back to construction after Waterloo, around 1825. Many subtle improvements were introduced here as Philippe Drouhin took over from his father Bernard. Now we are witnessing a second generational change, as Philippe and his wife Christine encourage their well-qualified children Nicolas and Caroline to take over the reins. In the past, all grape-bunches were de-stemmed, but now different proportions of whole clusters are being added to certain Cuvées. From village-level offerings up to the rarest Grands Crus, these wines offer superb quality across the range.
