2022 Rully Montagne La Folie, Domaine Claudie Jobard

This comes from a steep, pebble-rich vineyard to Rully’s north, lying just below 1st Growth Clos du Chaigne. The vines are more than 45 years old, this being the first vintage of organic certification. In 2022, retaining vital freshness was key to Claudie`s winemaking strategy – as such, she did not practice any lees stirring in this cuvée, which aged in 15% new oak for 6 months prior to earlier-than-usual bottling, in June 2023. Pale lemon-gold in the glass, aromas are delicately floral and attractive. This is a medium bodied, precise, finely textured mouthful, having pure, charming, stone and lemon fruit and a balanced, fresh finish (for drinking 2024-2025+).
