2023 Château La Mission, Lalande de Pomerol

Château La Mission’s tiny vineyard (just 2 hectares) lies on the south-western edge of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, touching the Pomerol border. Vine age averages 40 years, this 2023 being a blend of 75% Merlot with 25% Cabernet Franc. Aromas are alluring, with notes of ripe red fruits and dried rose petals. This is a full, fleshy, richly built mouthful, displaying Lalande de Pomerol’s classic, chocolatey, earthy profile. The finish is satisfying and rounded (for drinking 2028-2035+).
