Tinhof`s Grüner Veltliner comes from a 0.5 hectare plot of south-east facing, organically cultivated, 25-40 year old vines. Unoaked in style, aromas are clean and bright, recalling green apple and pink grapefruit, with a hint of white pepper spice. Light, dry and gentle on the palate, texture is creamy, the finish being lifted and fresh.
“The 2023 Tinhof Grüner Veltliner is right up my strasse, being a delicious, brilliantly priced example of this most Austrian of varieties. Made in Burgenland by 11th generation winzer Erwin Tinhof from 40-year-old vines, it might be rather muted on the nose but is full of generous crunchy green apple and citrus fruit in the mouth and makes a great food wine.”
