2023 Kumeu Village Chardonnay, Kumeu River

From the Brajkovich family`s prestigious Kumeu River Estate, this Village Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from family-owned vineyards in Hawkes Bay and Kumeu. Paul Brajkovich told us: “this is a wine where we always have a bottle in the fridge. It is the perfect aperitif Chardonnay and palate cleanser – and pairs so well with seafood. At Hawkes Bay we have lots of limestone in the soils, which brings minerality and lightness of step to this wine” Pale lemon-gold in the glass, aromas are tight and pure, recalling lemon and white peach, with a hint of flinty spice. Palate is pristine and focussed, having light body, linear acidity, and attractive fruit. Texture is silky, the finish being bright and lively.
