Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve NV

Founded in 1851 by the man who would become known as ‘Champagne Charlie’, this family-owned House is the smallest of the Grandes Marques. Charles Heidsieck’s size, and the winemaking team’s commitment to excellence results wines of incredible precision and finesse.

Wines from no fewer than 60 different plots go into the assemblage for this Brut Réserve cuvée, one third each coming from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. 40% of the blend is from aged reserve wine (much higher than seen elsewhere). These factors, along with the long, 40+ month maturation in bottle, explains the intense flavour complexity, sensuous texture and superbly fresh length of this Non-Vintage champagne. Radiant, pale gold colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is characterised by complex pastry aromas, with notes of apricot, toasted hazelnut and honey. This is expressive, precise, and palate-cleansing, with the perfect balance of freshness and generosity.
