Located in the Mâconnais village of Chaintré, Romain Cornin has taken on the reins at this family Domaine, with father Dominique playing an ever-valuable role behind the scenes. The family makes intense, finely textured, vivacious Chardonnay from their biodynamically farmed vineyards, centred in Chaintré – where their oldest vines date back to 1909. The property is fully organic certified, with Romain`s unwavering attention to detail, and passion to express terroir, resulting in him being considered one of the region`s most dynamic, and highly-respected, young winemakers. Tuning into each wine, he uses a combination of stainless steel tanks and 600 litre, Stockinger, austrian oak barrels for fermentation and maturation. Fining is never used, with only a light filtration.
