Domaine Julien Masquin

We were thrilled to introduce this exciting new name to our selection with the 2020 vintage. Paul Masquin, grandfather of current owner Julien, bought some plots of vines in the Couthézon area of Châteauneuf du Pape in 1936. Busy with other commercial interests, he entrusted them to neighbouring winegrowers, the crop being sold to the local co-operative. Significant change finally came in 1998 when Julien took over the 7.8-hectare estate. Having the dream of creating his own wines, he devoted his efforts to the return of sustainable farming methods, investing in the transformation of the vineyards whilst learning the ropes of wine production. Domaine bottling finally launched with the 2009 vintage. Since then, Julien has made great strides in building the reputation of the family name in Châteauneuf du Pape.
